Dr Adedayo Osholowu is one of the leading providers of Primary Care Sports Medicine services in Nigeria. The scope of his practice consists of Sports Injury Management (Diagnosis, Care and Rehabilitation) and Exercise Advice of recognized excellence to patients requiring his expertise. In addition whenever possible we strive to integrate education about Exercise, Fitness and athletic injuries so that our clients can lead healthier injury free lives. We are committed to using whatever technology is available and affordable in the delivery of these services. We remain committed to the continuous upgrading of the equipment used in the delivery of Sports Medicine services so that our clients will receive the most modern care in our region. Dayo has been personal physician to many Nigerian Athletes including Nigerian International Basketball professional Michael Ani and Nigerian Tennis Pro Yinka Thompson. Dayo is currently an independent Sports Medicine Clinician and Scientist based in between Lagos and Johannesburg. He has a full license to practice in The Federal Republic of Nigerian and received a temporary licensure to practice in the Republic of South Africa in June 2010. We offer a Primary Care Sports Injury and Exercise Advice service targeted at recreational athletes, amateur athletes, and patients with Non Communicable chronic diseases (Obesity, Hypertension, and Diabetes) who require exercise advice in managing their medical conditions. We also advice High performance executives and knowledge workers on their health and wellness and offer an Executive Health Screening service with a Stress Endurance and Fitness component.


My practice has a depth of knowledge and practical experience delivering Sports Medicine Servicesvbased on work experience over the past five years delivering the highest levels of Sports and Exercise Medicine around the world including recent appointments working with the South Africa 2010 FIFA World Cup, 2009 International Tennis Federation ITF F2 Futures Lagos Governors Cup, 2009 African Hockey Cup of Nations Accra Ghana and 2008 African Cup of Nations Accra Ghana. Consultant Sports Physician/ Medical Officer (Stretcher Bearer Team)

Client: South Africa 2010 Organising Committee Medical Team/ FIFA Medical Office

In June 2010 Dr Dayo Osholowu was appointed a Member of the Medical Team of Africa’s first World Cup by Dr Danny Jordan Chief Executive Officer of the 2010 FIFA World Cup Organizing Committee. He served as a Consultant Sports Physician and Medical Officer under Venue Medical Officer Dr Christa Van Rensburg at the Loftus Verfield Stadium Tshwane Pretoria, as part of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa Medical Team, he was present on site to render emergency care to a stricken participants, prompt medical evaluation of the situation, when warranted. Coordinating access to a remote medical facility, including communication and transportation between pitch side and the medical facility for prompt medical services, when warranted. He delivered medical services for the World’s best footballers including Lionel Messi, Didiers Drogbar and the rest of Africa’s greatest players.

Clinical Director Special Olympics International Healthy Athletes Program NIGERIA

Client: South Special Olympics International/ Special Olympics Nigeria

Since 2009 Dr Adedayo Osholowu has lead the Healthy Athletes is the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) funded Special Olympics Program designed to create health education and/or treatment opportunities for the athletes at Special Olympics events across Nigeria. In conjunction with the National Director of Special Olympics Nigeria and Special Olympics Africa Healthy Athlete Program Coordinator, he works to implement and expand the Healthy Athletes program in the 36 States of Nigeria. In this role he coordinates the Healthy Athlete programs at State and local levels and works Special Olympics Nigeria staff to identify sponsors and donors for the program. Duties involved administrative, personnel and financial management of medical services including liaising with the Special Olympics Nigeria Board to coordinate the implementation, development and delivery of medical services and facilities for athletes.

Team Physician Lagos Islanders Basketball 1st Division Team

Client: Lagos Islanders Basketball

Lead the Lagos Islanders Basketball Club medical team. A multi-disciplinary team to co-ordinate the implementation, development and delivery of medical services and facilities for Club athletes.I was responsible for the prevention of athletic injuries; the maintenance of the health and wellbeing; and the recuperation and rehabilitation following illness, injury, or surgery of all players under contract to the Club. Contributed to a continuous professional development programme that ensures the service positively impacts on performance outcomes.

Consultant Sports Physician and Medical Officer

Client: 2010 African Hockey Cup of Nations Organising Committee

Worked with the Nigerian Hockey Technical team at the 2009 African Hockey Nations Cup to coordinate the implementation, development and delivery of medical services and facilities for Athletes. I was responsible for the prevention of athletic injuries; the maintenance of the health and wellbeing; and the recuperation and rehabilitation following illness, injury, or surgery of all players under Nigerian Hockey federation.

Chief Medical Officer

Client: FIBA 2006 African Basketball Championships Organising Committee/ FIBA Africa

Duties involved administrative, personnel and financial management of medical services including liaising with the FIBA medical committee and team physicians to coordinate medical services at the event. Coordinated Sports medicine training for over 50 coaches and medical staff at the event.

Client: 2008 MTN African Football Cup of Nations Organising Committee

Worked with the AFCON Organising Committee Medical Present on site to render emergency care to stricken participants, prompt medical evaluation of the situation, when warranted. Coordinating access to a remote medical facilities, including communication and transportation between pitch side and the medical facility for prompt medical services, when warranted.
